A city builder concept I have been working on is where the player spawns in an open world and can choose where to start building their settlement.
I had this idea while playing through the settlement portions of AC: Valhalla. I thought that the recourse gathering method (raiding or trading with other settlements) would be an interesting twist on a city builder game. So I set out with the building placement mechanics and the recourse management using the data table function in Unreal. Now I have added a basic combat system. My next goal for this project is to add a relations system that would affect a future trade system and how aggressive the AI will be to the player.
